Following the tv series, Ben of Ouisurf designed a bootykini collection with the girls at June Swimwear. To promote the collection they shot this nice promo and asked me to grade it. The shoot was done using a 5d mike in a dry enclosure, some DoPros ans drones that proved to be hard to match.

They really wanted a fresh, girly and moody look heavily inspired by Instagram looks. I used some strong coloured vignettes and washed out blacks to give the shots that beach vibe.

Music video: Foxtrott “Driven”

I was approched, back in december, by 1one to grade this music video for Driven, the first single on Montreal electro-pop artist Foxtrott.

This rhythmic dance video is the result of for different shoots: two in studio including one shot on green screen and exterior shoots. The result is a very poppy edit that couldn’t suit the song better. It was directed and edited by Kevin Calero. It was graded on DaVinci Resolve from the RED footage.

Music video: Fred Pellerin – Plus tard qu’on pense

“Mon ex à moi” is a tv series produced by Avanti for the French Canadian broadcaster Series+. It’s the story of Amelie who desperately tries to win her ex back.

The show was shot last spring in a record time by DP Philippe Roy on Canon EOS C300. The 16 x 30min episodes were edited on Avid at PMT. That’s were I graded all the episodes. They have one nice Resolve room supported by the big Resolve control surface, a Sony OLED monitor and a 2K Christie projector.

The show was given a reduced dynamic rage to keep a milky feel to it. The white were soften and compressed a lot and the low lights remained above the 5%. The look remains the same across all the episodes and sets that are mostly warm except for the office where the main character works and her room. We tried to keep vibrant colors without over saturating.

Music video: Coeur de Pirate “Carry on”

Music video: Coeur de Pirate “Carry on”

This was my second collaboration with director Kevin Calero. Romeo&Fils produced this music video for “Carry On”, the first single of Coeur de Pirate’s new and first English album.

It was shot by Christophe Collette in an ancient church in Ontario. The choreography was shot in the day, then, again, at night and edited together by Kevin on Premiere.

The edit was sent to Workshop MileEnd for some VFX. They rendered out a 4K ProRes file that I got into Resolve for the final grade.

The video is now available online:

I was also asked to grade a short promo video to be distributed via social medias like Instagram.

I’m happy to present you this piece I graded back in September. It’s finally out. It’s a promo video for HiFi streaming speakers by Bluesound. The clip was produced by MOM Industries and I was hired by Studio Plasma to grade it.

The plan was to give it a “coffee shop” look without going for the washy black hipster look. It had to be warm without being hot. This could be easily overdone in the appartement. One the grade was done it was sent to VFX where they translated the annoying sounds of everyday life into these square glitches.

Here is the promo clip:
